Alternative way to publish your book is to self-publish.
Trying to get a book published by conventional means is very difficult nowadays. Most publishers are not taking new authors, or if they do it is only around 1% of submissions.
There are too many variables in the publishing industry with the advent of the Internet and the demise of the bookshop. So publishers are now consolidating with authors that are of an international flavour. This is very understandable as it cuts costs in production and marketing.
Plus publishers nowadays are also looking for books that are already published as they can pickup the book and have all the files which cuts down their production costs. This is what happened to E.L James author of the 50 Shades of Grey books, once she became popular in her own right by self publishing, the big guys were pounding on her door cheque books in hand.
So the alternative is to self publish, but not with a Vanity Printer disguised as a publisher. These companies are only interested in printing and supplying expensive books to authors, it is how they make a profit. If you can’t get your book printed at a competitive price, then you can’t make a profit.
We do our best to made sure the author has the best chance to be competitive.
